Below the Old National Road is the large sea cave of Kako Oros, a special geological formation relatively unknown to most locals. There is a big hole in the roof of the cave, creating an impressive stone arch and a natural skylight.

The mountain of Samitos is the extension of Mount Kedros to the northeast and is separated from the main volume of Kedros by the river Smilianos. At the top of it is built the chapel of Ascension (altitude 1013 meters), from where the view around the Amari valley is amazing.

The church of St. Paul, after which the village Agios Pavlos of province Apokoronas is named, by Gavalohori, dates back from the 16th century. It has been restored and the interior does not preserve murals. Outside the temple, a cemetery has been identified which dates back from the 12th century, implying that there was an older temple here. There is a cross in the interior, bearing the date 1886.

The unique in Greece Museum of Typography is found in Chania, not far from the city, in the Park of Local Industries in Souda. It constitutes the life vision of its founder, Yannis Garedakis.

Ο μαυροπετρίτης (επιστ. Falco eleonorae) είναι ένα από τα σημαντικότερα γεράκια της Ελλάδας με άνοιγμα φτερών 84-103cm και μήκος σώματος 36-40cm. Είναι μεταναστευτικό είδος που την άνοιξη φωλιάζει στα μικρά άγονα νησιά του Αιγαίου, όπου και αναπαράγεται.

Ο ευμεγέθης ναός της Αγίας Ζώνης βρίσκεται μέσα στο χωριό των Αγιών Παρασκιών και εορτάζει την ημέρα της Κατάθεσης της Τιμίας Ζώνης της Θεοτόκου (31 Αυγούστου) που είναι και η τελευταία ημέρα του Εκκλησιαστικού Έτους. Ο ναός χρονολογείται στον 11ο αιώνα και στο εσωτερικό του φέρει τοιχογραφίες που διακρίνονται με πολλή δυσκολία.

Они построили здесь эту башню для защиты своей собственности. Керимидесы были крипто-христианами, но не присоединились к повстанцам, как другие похожие семьи на Крите, когда началась Великая революция 1821.
