Ο ναός του Σωτήρα Χριστού είναι μονόχωρος με δύο αψιδώματα και εξαιρετικές τοιχογραφίες. Υπάρχει επιγραφή του 1303, που αναφέρει ότι ζωγράφοι ήταν ο Θεόδωρος Δανιήλ και ο Μιχαήλ Βενέρης. Στο νάρθηκα οι τοιχογραφίες χρονολογούνται στον 15ο αιώνα.
At the wider area of Kandanos, the Ottomans built four towers with loopholes to protect themselves from the rebels. Traces of one tower are still preserved above the village of Vamvakades, while the towers at Anisaraki, Nychteriano and Koufalotos have not survived. The tower of Vamvakades was built at an altitude of about 1040 m., being the tower with the highest altitude in Crete.
Η Μονή Μεταμορφώσεως του Σωτήρος στον Κέραμο Φουρνής είναι κτισμένη μέσα σε ένα όμορφο αλσύλλιο από κυπαρίσσια και πεύκα σε μια κατά τα άλλα ξηρή περιοχή. Σήμερα το μοναστήρι δεν κατοικείται και το μεγαλύτερο μέρος των κτισμάτων του έχουν ερημώσει. Το μοναστήρι ήταν μεγάλο και τα κτίρια του ήταν διώροφα και ψηλοτάβανα, ενώ περιτριγυριζόταν από οχυρωματικό τείχος.
Ένα από τα πολλά μυλοτόπια του Μιραμπέλου βρίσκεται στην περιοχή του Βρουχά και αποτελείται από εννέα μύλους. Όλοι τους ανήκουν στον τύπο του Αξετροχάρη, ο οποίος έχει σχήμα μακρόστενο με στογγύλη στη μία του άκρη όπου βρίσκεται ο μύλος. Ο Αξετροχάρης γυρίζει μονάχα με ένα συγκεκριμένο άνεμο.
Στα εκθέματα περιλαμβάνονται παραδοσιακά γεωργικά εργαλεία, παραδοσιακός οικιακός εξοπλισμός, όπλα και στρατιωτικός εξοπλισμός στρατιωτών που έδρασαν στην περιοχή κατά τη διάρκεια του Β’ Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου.
Near the villages of Episkopi and Mourtzana, in a lush green valley, we still see the ruins of the houses and the watermills of the village Mousses or Moussi. In this village we meet the five watermills that took advantage of the abundant water of the area for grinding grain of the surrounding villages. The mills operated till the 1950s, when the modern technology surpassed the traditional way of grinding. Thus, the millers who saw their job diminishing, had to leave this wonderful place and seek their future elsewhere.
In an area literally hidden in olive trees and other trees below the village Selia, province St. Basil of Rethymnon we meet the temple of Saints Fotis and Anikitos. The chapel is reached through a dirt road from Sellia village. The church is small, oblong and single-spaced and with really austere exterior. The whole temple over the years has taken a strong slope since the area has probably collapsed and so the church leans on the sides.
