Το sci·sense ιδρύθηκε το 2022 και βρίσκεται κεντρικά της πόλης των Χανίων, κοντά στην Πλατεία Ελευθερίας (Δικαστηρίων). Περισσότερα από 100 διαδραστικά πειράματα φυσικής είναι χρονικά μοιρασμένα σε επτά “διαδρομές” – επτά επισκέψεις και χωρικά μοιρασμένα βάσει τεσσάρων από τις αισθήσεις μας.

Sci·sense was founded in 2022 and is located in the center of Chania, near Eleftherias Square (Dikastiria). More than 100 interactive physics experiments are divided into seven "routes" – seven different visits, spatially divided based on four of our senses. The experiments are designed to engage both children and adults. The name comes from the words science and sense, where "sense" embodies both our capacity to feel and our quest to understand the wonders of science. Each route is a personal experience, a journey of discovery of the world around us, ourselves, and our interaction with it. Sci·sense is a blend of guided tours and personal experience in an innovative and entertaining way, where you can experiment with your friends or children, and time flies as you embrace the joy of learning and the wonder of discovery.
In addition to the main beach of Plakias with its shallow sand, west of the village as far as the fishing shelter of Plakias, there is also Skinos beach.
Η παραλία του Κακόσκαλου βρίσκεται 70 χλμ νοτιοδυτικά του Ηρακλείου, στα όρια του Τυμπακίου και της Αγίας Γαλήνης. Η παραλία ξεκινάει βορειοδυτικά του λιμανιού του Κόκκινου Πύργου, στην περιοχή των Μακρυμαλιανών και εκτείνεται ως την Αγία Γαλήνη.
Μπροστά από τον οικισμό, δυτικά της Πόντας, υπάρχει η μικρή απάνεμη παραλία του Άη Γιάννη. Αν αναζητείτε περισσότερη απομόνωση μπορείτε να πάτε στην πανέμορφη παραλία της Ελυγιάς, στα ανατολικά της χερσονήσου.
Εκτός από την κύρια παραλία του Πλακιά με την ρηχή αμμουδιά, η οποία ανήκει στην κοινότητα Μύρθιου, δυτικά από το χωριό ως και το αλιευτικό καταφύγιο του Πλακιά, υπάρχει και η δεύτερη παραλία του Πλακιά, ο Σκίνος.
