The green valley of Symi in province Viannos is known for the pine forest and its springs, that have cool water throughout the year. There are many waterfalls in the wider region. The most famous stream that forms waterfalls is Krya Vrissi, which starts northwards from the sanctuary of Hermes and Aphrodite, passes through Ano Symi and continues to the gorge of Symi.
The cemeterial temple of St Nikolaos and St Charalambos at MIliarisi is very special because it is dikonchos (double-niche), a type that is rare. The type of dikonchos church differs from the two-aisled as there is a common roof for both aisles, without interference of wall between the aisles.
The building at 17 Halbherr Str. during the Ottoman Era was the residence of Mirtza Efendis. It is a two-storey wood and stone building with later additions in reinforced concrete. A high wall marks out the entire property.

Ανατολικά των Μαλίων, στην περιοχή Λούτρες, υπάρχει ο ναός του Αγίου Γεωργίου. Ο ναός είναι κτισμένος στη θέση παλαιότερου του 9ου αιώνα και χρονολογείται στην Ενετοκρατία (13ος αιώνας). Στο εσωτερικό του φέρει τοιχογραφίες, από τις οποίες δεσπόζει ο Άγιος Γεώργιος στο άλογό του, αλλά και διάφορες μορφές αγίων. Στους τοίχους διακρίνονται χαράγματα περιηγητών του 1594,1613,1614 και 1616.
Ο ναός του Ευαγγελισμού της Θεοτόκου στους Κασσάνους Πεδιάδος είναι μικρός, μονόχωρος και καμαροσκέπαστος. Στο εσωτερικό του διασώζονται ίχνη τοιχογραφιών της Παλαιολόγειας Σχολής από το 14ο αιώνα. Μπορούμε να διακρίνουμε σκηνές από το Δωδεκάορτο, τα Πάθη, διάφορους αγίους, τον Μαριολογικό κύκλο, κα.
The church of Panagia Kryoneritissa is situated at an altitude of 1100m on Mount Kedros and belongs to the parish of village Vrysses. It takes its name (meaning Virgin Mary of Cold Water) after the nearby springs. It is a single-nave barrel-vaulted church dedicated to Zoodochos Pigi (Life Giving Spring) and bears interesting reliefs on the carved stone of the entrance.
