Dia is an uninhabited island with 5 km maximum length and 3 km maximum width surrounded by small rocky inlets. It is located 6 miles north of Heraklion. It is one of NATURA's protected areas due to its status as a biotope for endemic plants and for plants with low dispersal within the Southern Aegean.

In front of the touristic settlement, there is a nice sandy beach with turquoise waters. The sea surface is mainly flat because the beach has an easterly orientation. while winds in Crete come mainly from the west. The beach is organized with umbrellas, sunbeds, and water sports.

The first beach you come across east of the port of Hersonissos is a long sandy narrow beach, which is flooded by thousands of people. It is very well organized and close to the amenities of the city. However, it is inappropriate for those who do not like crowds.

Η παραλία είναι γεμάτη με δέντρα αρκεύθου, που μοιάζουν με κέδρους, και αμμοθίνες, που θυμίζουν τροπικές παραλίες. Οι μικροί κέδροι ανήκουν στα είδη Juniperus oxycedrus και Juniperus phoenicea. Αν βρεθείτε στην παραλία, θα πρέπει να θυμάστε ότι τα δέντρα είναι πολύ εύθραυστα και είναι απαιτούν το σεβασμό σας, γι'αυτό φροντίστε να μην τα πλησιάζετε.

Η Τρυπητή βρίσκεται 73 χλμ νότια του Ηρακλείου και 12 χλμ ανατολικά του Λέντα, σε μια μικρή κοιλάδα που σχηματίζεται στην έξοδο του φαραγγιού της Τρυπητής (μην το μπερδεύετε με το ομώνυμο φαράγγι των Χανίων). Το όνομα της το παίρνει από την εκκλησία της Παναγίας της Τρυπητής, η οποία είναι χτισμένη μέσα σε σπηλιά του φαραγγιού.

The exotic beach of Falassarna is located 59km west of Chania and 17km west of Kissamos. It’s located in the western part of Cape Gramvousa. At the northern end of the beach are the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Falassarna.

Ο μεγάλος καταρράκτης στο Κουρταλιώτικο Φαράγγι αποτελεί ένα από τα ομορφότερα φυσικά αξιοθέατα της Κρήτης. Σχηματίζεται ακριβώς κάτω από το εκκλησάκι του Οσίου Νικολάου του Κουρταλιώτη.

The large waterfall in Kourtaliotiko Gorge is one of the most beautiful natural attractions in Crete. It is formed directly below the small church of Saint Nicholas Kourtaliotis.
