Arkoudospilios (Bear Cave) or the Cave of Panagia Arkoudiotissa is located in Avlaki gorge of Akrotiri (Chania), 2km north of the Gouvernetou monastery, in the gorge connecting Gouvernetou with Katholiko Monastery. The cave is known for the bear-shaped rock that made the cave a place of worship of the ancient goddess Artemis.
The village retains the traditional elements of Crete intact and is an ideal destination for a relaxing holiday. The villagers, mostly originating from the village Sfaka, are very friendly and you will feel very familiar with them on the first day. If you're lucky, you might meet some of the events organized by the locals, such as fishing contests.
In front of the suburbs of Rethymnon stretches a long sandy beach, which is an extension of vast beachfront that starts near the harbor of Rethymno and extends to the east for 13km. It is very well organized, with a plethora of choices for food, drink and accommodation.
The beach is the longest in the area with a length exceeding 1.5km, bounded on the north by the Cape Tenta and on the south by the Cape Plaka. It has fine brown sand, shallow turquoise waters, and several tamarisk trees around it. It is slightly organized in some areas with umbrellas, showers, and beach bars.
Ακριβώς ανατολικά της παραλία του Αγιοφάραγγου και αφού σκαρφαλώσουμε τα βράχια, συναντάμε μια κρυμμένη θαλασσινή λίμνη-βάραθρο με υφάλμυρο νερό. Ο Βουρβουλίτης, όπως λέγεται, επικοινωνεί υποθαλάσσια με την ανοιχτή θάλασσα.
Ο Άγιος Ισίδωρος βρίσκεται στο βορειοανατολικότερο σημείο της Κρήτης, 32 χλμ ανατολικά της Σητείας και 99 χλμ ανατολικά του Αγίου Νικολάου. Πιο συγκεκριμένα βρίσκεται στο βορειότερο σημείο του Κάβου Σίδερο, δίπλα στον Ναυτικό Σταθμό στο Κυριαμάδι. Η τριγύρω περιοχή χαρακτηρίζεται από ένα μοναδικό τοπίο άγριας φυσικής ομορφιάς, το οποίο έχει σμιλεύσει η αλμύρα και η θάλασσα.
The monastery of Preveli (or Prevelis) includes two separate monasteries which are located 1.7km from each other, the Kato (Lower) Monastery of Prodromos and the Piso (Back) Monastery of Theologos.
Τα Αχλιά βρίσκονται 50km νοτιοανατολικά του Αγίου Νικολάου και 15km ανατολικά της Ιεράπετρας, στην πευκόφυτη περιοχή της κοινότητας Σχινοκαψάλων. Είναι ένας μικρός οικισμός που είναι χτισμένος μέσα σε ένα μικρό κόλπο, περιτριγυρισμένος από πολλά πεύκα και ψηλά βουνά. Μπορεί να ακούσετε τους ντόπιους να αναφέρονται σε αυτή ως Γαλήνη, από την ομώνυμη ταβέρνα.
