Το Γεράνι είναι ένα μικρό παραθαλάσσιο χωριό που βρίσκεται σε απόσταση 13 χλμ δυτικά της πόλης των Χανίων, ανάμεσα στο Μάλεμε και στον Πλατανιά. Βρίσκεται μέσα σε μια κατάφυτη κοιλάδα με ελαιώνες και εσπεριδοειδή.

The lighthouse of Cape St John or Aforesmenos is located 27km north of Agios Nikolaos, next to the village of Vrouchas and the wind farm of Baboura. The lighthouse can be accessed via a passable dirt track that starts from the wind farm and, then, a short trail that runs along the cliffs (some years ago there was only a trail). The rugged landscape is typical of Crete with bare mountains, rugged coastlines, and too much wind!
The beach of Agia Kyriaki is located 88km south of Chania, 7km west of Paleochora and 0.5km west of the peninsula Grammeno. The beach is mainly known as Koundoura, because it is located at the Koundoura area. The climate in the region is very warm and is full of greenhouses.
Το νησί Θοδωρού ή Άγιοι Θεόδωροι βρίσκεται απέναντι από την παραλία του Πλατανιά στα Χανιά, μόλις μισό μίλι βορειότερα. Η ιστορία της νησίδας και η οικολογική της σημασία για την διάσωση του προστατευόμενου Κρητικού Αίγαγρου, κάνει την αναφορά σε αυτό το μικρό σημείο του χάρτη επιτακτική.
Η Μονή της Αγίας Τριάδας Αρετίου βρίσκεται κοντά στο χωριό Καρύδι (Νεάπολης), σε μια ξηρή και απομονωμένη περιοχή της επαρχίας Μιραμπέλου. Μαζί με τη γειτονική μονή Καρδαμούτζας αποτελούσαν τις σημαντικότερες μονές της περιοχής που στην περιφέρειά της βρίσκονται τα περισσότερα μοναστήρια από κάθε άλλο μέρος στην Κρήτη.
