Here we meet the remnants of a small Koules (Turkish fort) that had visual contact with the koules of Agios Ioannis and Loutro. Almost nothing survives from the fort, apart from some wall foundations. Also, there are modern water cisterns, apparently built with material of the fortress.
The present Cathedral temple of "Eisodion" was built on the place of an older temple of "Theotokos" (Virgin Mary) Trimartiri, dating back to the 14th century. When the city of Chania was occupied by the Turks in 1645, the temple was converted into a soap-factory without altering its initial design.

The Municipal Art Gallery of Chania is housed in a typical commercial industrial building of neoclassical Greek architecture in the late 19th and early 20th century in Halidon street, on the way to the Venetian harbor of Chania and near the Archaeological Museum.
Στην τοποθεσία Βοθόνοι συναντάμε Ρωμαϊκές ιχθυοδεξαμενές που ήταν λαξευμένες από τους Ρωμαίους στον μαλακό ψαμμίτη. Υπάρχει ένα μικρό άνοιγμα για να ανανεώνεται το νερό. Στα πλάγια υπάρχουν σκαλιά, όπου μπορείτε να φανταστείτε την νοικοκυρά της εποχής να στέκεται και να φωνάζει: «Αυτό θέλω!».
The lake at Digheni’s Tomb, adjacent to the artificial lake of Gergeri, is a special case of a seasonal wetland that has water in winter and dries up in the summer. The natural cavity where it is located has the form of an inverted cone. Although the swamp is isolated, it maintains populations of amphibians, tortoises and birds.
Το Ιστορικό Μουσείο Κρήτης ιδρύθηκε το 1953 από της Εταιρία Κρητικών Ιστορικών Μελετών. Στεγάζεται σε ένα υπέροχο νεοκλασικό κτίριο που ήταν η οικία του Μίνωα Καλοκαιρινού και παραχωρήθηκε από το Ίδρυμα Καλοκαιρινού.
