Εκτός από τους Κουλέδες του Ασκύφου, αρκετοί άλλοι Κουλέδες είχαν κατασκευαστεί στη σημερινή επαρχία Σφακίων με στόχο την κατάπνιξη της Επανάστασης και την ακινητοποίηση των Σφακιανών.
The ancient town Falanna was located at the position of the abandoned settle Onithe, near Goulediana. It covers a large plateau in a naturally fortified site. The first use of the site is dated in the Neolithic Age, but the town flourished during the archaic times (7-6th century BC). It was a small town depended on city Rithimna.
Between Kalogeros beach and the harbor of Maschalis (the west port of Agia Roumeli) some beaches are formed in caves that the locals call them Caves in Marble. These caves are formed in the whitish hard rock of the area and constitute a unique hideout for nature lovers. They can be accessed easily either by a canoe from Agia Roumeli or even by swimming.

This plane tree forms a small oasis in the monastery of Saint John Giona, contrary to the arid and eerie landscape around. It is said that a weird phenomenon takes place here, as the leafs of the plane tree are from the other side than usual.
Εξαιρετικά όμορφο μικρό φαράγγι που ξεκινάει από τους Μεσελέρους Ιεράπετρας και, αφού γίνει ποτάμι, διοχετεύει τα νερά του στο φράγμα των Μπραμιανών. Η βλάστηση αποτελείται κυρίως από πεύκα, ενώ κύριο χαρακτηριστικό είναι οι εντυπωσιακές μορφές που έχουν οι βράχοι από τη διάβρωση του νερού.
At the eastern edge of Pera Galini beach, the small cape of Kefali is formed. The ruins of a Minoan settlement, which is thought to have been an important port in the region, have been discovered there.
