The church of Saint Anthony at Episkopi is located in a beautiful square with pine trees at the east part of the old village. It is a small single-nave vaulted church bearing parts of frescoes.

Το φρούριο Παλαιόκαστρο κτίστηκε από τους Ενετούς στη θέση της αρχαίας πόλης Απτέρα, που ήταν φύσει οχυρή, για να προστατεύσουν το κόλπο της Σούδας από ενδεχόμενες επιθέσεις ή επιδρομές. Τα τείχη του, που είχαν προσανατολισμό από Βορρά προς Νότο σε μερικά σημεία είχαν πάχος 1.5m, ύψος 3m και ήταν εφοδιασμένο με θολωτές δεξαμενές. Ένας πλατύς δρόμος το συνέδεε με τη θάλασσα.

Фольклорный музей Хандрас занимает старый традиционный дом в поселке. Коллекция представлена предметами ежедневного обихода из критянского прошлого, подаренными музею местными жителями.

К северу от Неаполиса находится современная двухнефная кладбищенская церковь, один неф которой посвящен Преображению Господню, другой – Всем Святым.

Монастырь Св. Иоанна Милостивого (Агиос Иоаннис Элимон) находится вблизи с аэропортом Ханьи, к югу от деревни Пазинос или Гагаладо. Этот монастырь, находящийся под покровительством монастыря Гувернето, был укреплен и его стены сохранились в замечательном состоянии.

Leprias or Lepries is a small pebbly beach located at Kalokambos area, about 73km south of Heraklion city, amidst the wild and majestic landscape of Asterousia Range, southwest of the summit of Kofinas. The beach is formed in front of a steep dirt slope, which crumbles and collapses like the leper's skin, therefore it is called Leprias, after the Greek word for leper.

The marginated tortoise (scient. Testudo marginata) is the largest European tortoise, reaching a weight of up to 5 kg and a length of 35 cm. It is not native species of Crete, although fossils have been found on the island. However, more and more domestic tortoises appear in the Cretan countryside, as they escape from their homes.

The former monastery of St. Paul (13-14th century) is located near the village Paranimfi near a spring. All around, we see traces of an ancient temple, which was looted. The church is a basilica with single nave and there are traces of frescoes.
