Η νυφίτσα της Κρήτης (mustela nivalis galinthias) αποτελεί ενδημικό υποείδος της κοινής νυφίτσας, το οποίο βρίσκεται σε όλο το νησί. Στην Κρήτη είναι γνωστό κι ως Καλογιαννού ή καλογυναικάρι, καθώς η άσπρη λουριδωτή κοιλιά της θυμίζει καλόγρια.
Asfendou cave is located near the village of Sfakia, on a steep slope at position Skordalakia. The road connecting Asfendou with Kallikratis passes nearby and there is a plateau with an area of 2000 square meters in front. Skordoulakia cave is a very small rock shelter without woo much depth that barely fits two people and is located on a hillside at the beginning of the canyon Asfendou.
The beach Lavrakas is located about 2km west of Agiannis, near the northern edge of Gavdos. Lavrakas can be accessed by walking 20'-30' Agiannis, where you can go by bus. Lavrakas is a fantastic beach with golden sand and turquoise water. It is no organized and is one of the most secluded beaches, since it is accessed only on foot.
The gorge of Roza is an offshoot of the gorge of Ambelos. It starts from a point near the rural road that crosses the gorge of Ambelos and has east-southeast direction, leading to Kera.
The Plateau of Anopolis is located in the area of Sfakia and more specifically 13km west of Hora Sfakion. It is a small plateau formed in the wild mountains of Sfakia, the most inaccessible province of Europe.
Ο Σκινιάς είναι μια αρκετά απομονωμένη περιοχή στο ανατολικότερο κομμάτι της Κρήτης. Βρίσκεται 94 χλμ και 20 χλμ ανατολικά του Αγίου Νικολάου και της Σητείας, αντίστοιχα. Η περιοχή φιλοξενεί τρεις υπέροχες παραλίες, από τις πιο απομονωμένες σε όλο το νησί, στην έξοδο του φαραγγιού Κατσαρά. Δεν υπάρχουν καθόλου υποδομές και σκιά, άρα θα πρέπει να έχετε μαζί σας τα απαραίτητα.
The folds of the rocks at position Apoplystra, between the village of St. Paul and the sandhills are remarkably colorful and have been proposed to be listed to the Natural Monuments of Greece.
Το Καλάμι βρίσκεται 70 χλμ ανατολικά του Αγίου Νικολάου και 34 χλμ ανατολικά της Ιεράπετρας, πολύ κοντά στο Γούδουρα. Η περιοχή είναι γεμάτη με μικρούς ήρεμους κόλπους, πολύ μακριά από τα μεγάλα αστικά κέντρα της Κρήτης και καταμεσής ενός από τα ξηρότερα μέρη του Λασιθίου. Οι παραλίες είναι πολύ εύκολα προσβάσιμες αφού δίπλα περνάει ο κεντρικός δρόμος.
