Η ελιά αυτή έχει ανακηρυχθεί ως μνημειακή από τον Σύνδεσμο Ελαιοκομικών Δήμων Κρήτης λόγω μεγέθους, σχήματος και ανάγλυφου κορμού. Η ονομασία της τοποθεσίας που βρίσκεται είναι «Γρε Ελέ» που σημαίνει Γριά Ελιά και αναφέρεται σε αυτό το δέντρο.

The pond of Livada is located at the homonym position 1km north of the village Thrapsano and is one of the favorite places for locals to walk. The small lake covers only 21.000 sq.m., but is an important wetland, where more than 130 species of birds have been met.
A few meters south of the entrance of cave Chainospilios, we meet the cave Hamoto Spiliari (i.e. Low-roof Cave), which has a length of 32 meters, a maximum width of 6 meters and a height of 6 meters. It is a very small cave, but it has its charm and deserves being explored!

Remains of an extensive centre of the Old Palace period (1950-1700 B.C.) have been uncovered.at the site called Gournes, near the village of Apodoulou, at the west foot of Psiloritis. The site dominates the Amari valley and controls the main route to the Messara plain.
