Древняя Диктинна является уникальным археологическим местом на Крите. Расположена в 45 километрах к юго-западу от Ханья , в восточной части полуострова Спафа и 23 км от Колибари.
Μέσα στη ρεματιά που σχηματίζεται βορειοανατολικά της Συλάμου συναντάμε ίχνη από τη δεύτερη στη σειρά υδατογέφυρα από το επιβλητικό υδραγωγείο των Ενετών. Το υδραγωγείο μετέφερε τα νερά από τις πηγές των Αρχανών στο κέντρο της πόλης του Χάνδακα, του σημερινού Ηρακλείου. Δυστυχώς ελάχιστα σώζονται από τη γέφυρα.
Στη δυτική πλευρά του επιβλητικού κάστρου της Φορτέτσας στο Ρέθυμνο και πάνω από τη θάλασσα βρίσκεται ο σπηλαιώδης ναός του Αγίου Σπυρίδωνος στο Σκίερο (εορτ. 11 Αυγούστου και 12 Δεκεμβρίου). Ο ναός χρονολογείται στον ύστερο 16ο αιώνα και αποτελεί έναν από τους παλαιότερους ναούς της πόλης του Ρεθύμνου που διασώζονται.
Here you will meet the ruins of the monastery Panagia Fraskia (Faschea) mentioned on almost all maps of the Venetian Era, having been one of the most important monasteries in Venetian Crete. Panagia, mentioned by Buontelmonti in 1415, was founded in the late 12th century at the point where the Venetians used as a natural harbor (the cove of Fraskia).
Gorge Koumos is located at the area of Kapetaniana and it ends near the seaside settlement of Agios Ioannis, in a area full of pine trees. It is an unknown gorge and it can only be accessed with technical equipment. It is generally dry but after some heavy rainfalls it forms spectacular waterfalls.
St George Galatas (Milky) at village Asi Gonia is a small single-aisled church. This temple houses one of the famous centuries-old traditions of Crete during the feast of St. on April 23.
At the lowest point of the ruined village Kolokasia, Sfaki Provice, at the church of the Virgin Mary starts forming a stream. The stream collects the water of the village. After crossing the olive grove of the village it turns to a small, but rugged, gorge called Rechtas or Rektas. Its name means waterfall in the local dialect. A few meters after the start the gorge it forms, indeed, a spectacular waterfall about 20 meters high.
The Venetian church of Virgin Mary (Panagia Kera or Faneromeni) is located near the entrance of the town of Archanes. The name Faneromeni (Revealed) is taken after a legend that writes as follows: Once a girl called Maria saw a light at the point where the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary was hidden. The girl then built the first temple.
