Ano Viannos during the Venetian era was the largest village in the province of Belvedere. It was therefore necessary for the Venetians to fortify the area very well. As we can see even today, there are some ruins of a Venetian tower found on the western part of the village, which was also used by the Turks.
Episkopi village is located in Mylopotamos provice, near Perama. There lived the Cretan-Turkish family of Kerimides (Kerimoglou) or Kyrimides. They built this tower there, so as to protect their property.

The wider area of Ligaria beach hosts several waterfalls in after rains, framed by the unique greenish rocky grounds. One of the falls stands out due to the height of 10m and the small pond at its base. The fall is almost hidden by dense vegetation. To locate it, walk upside down the creek that flows to the east of the beach, overcome the small waterfalls from the side and you will meet the large waterfall in a stream coming from the left.
Ένας από τους καλύτερα συντηρημένους νερόμυλους της επαρχίας Σητείας ο οποίος έφτασε μέχρι και τις μέρες μας και στέκει σε αξιοζήλευτη κατάσταση είναι ο νερόμυλος στις Χοχλακιές. Οι Χοχλακιές είναι ένα πολύ μικρό χωριουδάκι με ελάχιστους σήμερα κατοίκους στο ανατολικότερο άκρο της Σητείας μα και ολόκληρης της Κρήτης.
A little south of the village Listaros, on the road to Kali Limenes and Agiofarago we meet the historic monastery of Panagia Odigitria. The Odigitria Monastery apart from the Minoan antiquities, the Byzantine treasures and the Tower of Xopateras hosts also a wonderful folk museum.
The chapel of Agia Paraskevi is accessed via the road leading to Episkopi, Rethymno, from Dramia village, Apokoronas. It is a very small cavernous rock built at the west bank of Mouselas river, that starts from Argiroupoli springs. It is a weird chapel, with irregular sides, with a unique shape in Crete.
