Lassithi gorges
Lassithi Prefecture has the most dangerous gorge in Greece, called Cha. There is a 215m high waterfall. The Gorge of the Deads in Kato Zakros and the Gorge of Red Butterflies are some of the important gorges of Lassithi. Other noteworthy gorges are Lamnoni, Perivolakia (Kapsa), Pefkoi and Lapithos

The gorge of Ha is the most impessive Gorge of Ierapetra area and is one of most dangerous, if not the most one, gorges in Greece. Only a very few experienced climbers have crossed the canyon, while some others have been killed. the gorge has been shaped by tectonic earthquake.

Mesonas Gorge
The Gorge of Mesonas is located on the northern slopes of the mountains of Thripti, next to Kavoussi and Avgos villages. It is a short gorge of 4km, ideal for canyoning, since there are narrow and steep passages that need experience. There is also a trail running along the sides of the gorge for those who cannot stand tiredness.

Richtis Gorge

The amazing gorge of Richtis is located in Lasithi Prefecture, on the north side, between Agios Nikolaos and Sitia. It starts just outside the village Exo Mouliana and ends at the Richtis beach, east of the village of Kalabro. The total length of the route is approximately 3 kilometers and the elevation difference between the starting point and the beach is about 350 meters. The gorge, even in summer, has enough water, which is used by locals.

Kapsas Gorge (Pervolakia Gorge)

The wild and imposing gorge of Kapsas is located 8-9km east of Makrigialos and 33km east of Ierapetra. The gorge is also called Pervolakia, because its northern entrance is near the secluded and picturesque village of Pervolakia. When in the village, you should walk in the nearby traditional village of Pezoulas, with the amazing houses. The exit of the gorge is next to the Monastery of Kapsa, in the Libyan Sea. You can swim in the beautiful quiet pebbly beach, just in front of the gorge exit.

The length of the canyon reaches 1.5km and its width ranges from 3 to 10 meters, with only a few points exceeding that. This is a canyon with most of its length being accessible, with water, ponds and some climbing points. It is ideal for a pleasant afternoon or for a walk with your children.

Havgas Gorge (Lassithi Plateau)

Havgas Gorge is an amazing gorge of rare natural beauty, the unique gorge in Lassithi Plateau. Hiking in the gorge is difficult even for experienced climbers. The gorge carries water from Katharo Plateau to Lassithi Plateau. It is located between the peaks of Katharios Lakkos (1197 m) and Kefala (1269 m). Its length is about 3-4 km and in some places the sides rise almost vertically to a great height.

Patsopoulos and Kouroukoulos Gorges
The unknown gorge of Kouroukoulos starts from the deserted village Agalianos at the province of Merambelo, Lasithi prefecture. By following the old trail starting from the village and we reach the watercourse, which is accessible for hiking throughout its length. The vegetation consists mainly of oaks at the beginning and as we approach the sea, it turns to brushwood and oregano.
