Vourdolakos beach

(3 votes, average 4.33 out of 5)

Vourdolakos is a remote beautiful beach with coarse gray sand, located 91km southeast of Heraklion and 55km southwest of Agios Nikolaos, between Tertsa and Psari Forada. It is also called Chlia, but do not confuse it with the beach Achlia, located east of Ierapetra. Actually, it consists of two consecutive bays, separated by a short rocky part, where you could snorkel.

This long beach is totally uknown to everybody and, as expected, not developed. It is suitable for absolute isolation, as there is nothing next to it, apart from olive groves and several greenhouses that produce the unique banana of Crete. This is a fantastic beach with clear and usually calm waters.

To get to Chlia, you should follow the dirt road leading to the east from Psari Forada. Chlia is located about three kilometers eastern.
