Kalivaki beach
The beach Kalivaki (i.e. Small Hut) is located west of the port of Georgioupolis, 37km east of Chania and 21km west of Rethymnon. It is shaped near the exit of Almyros river, which has water all year round.
It is a beautiful sandy beach with low dunes around. The water, due to the river Almyros, is very cold. Kalivaki is well organized, with umbrellas, water sports and restaurants nearby. It is a good choice for children, especially when it is windy because this beach has better protection from its neighboring ones.
To access Kalivaki, you have to walk west from the hotels in Georgioupolis, until you cross the river.
