Kakia Skala beaches (Gramvousa)

(4 votes, average 4.00 out of 5)

The wild Gramvousa Cape is located on the northwesternmost part of Crete. Rocky coves near steep cliffs are shaped next to the dirt road leading to the famous lagoon of Balos at Kakia Skala area.

There is a protected cove, where a small beach with fine pebbles and gorgeous deep blue waters is shaped. The cove is located about 4km north of Kalyviani and 10km northwest of Kissamos, adjacent to the eastern cliffs of the cape. This beautiful tiny beach is an ideal resting point for those who walk the 2-3hrs route to Balos. However access to the beach is not easy, as the rocky cliffs make the descent tough, but possible.

The easiest way to get to the beach is by boat from Kissamos harbor. Note that when the sea is wavy, the beach disappears under water.
