Fournoti beach
Fournoti is an amazing beautiful beach, located 57km south of Chania, 10km east of Sougia and 1.5km west of Agia Roumeli.
It is very nice, with deep blue water, fine pebbles and surrounded by pine trees. The beach is secluded in one of the most beautiful Greek places, the rough Mountains of Sfakia. It is totally unorganised and accessible only by boat. Some swimmers prefer to swim the distance from/to Agia Roumeli (1-2 hr) but its not suggested.
Fournoti is a perfect choice for staying remote, even in high-season days. There is a cave on beach, suitable for camping and finding shade.
The beach is the only place where the plant Hypericum aciferum lives, making this beach very important for biological studies. You will see several yellow signs on its rocky cliffs that surround the beach, indicating spots were this plant is. Thus, now you know that you must not disturb the existence of this indigenous species at any means.
